Follow the links on the left to learn about the Teakettle Ecosystem Experiment - a replicated experimental manipulation comparing the effects of thinning and prescribed fire on ecosystem structure and function in a mixed-conifer forest. The ongoing experiment is occurring in the Teakettle Experimental Forest in the southern Sierra Nevada east of Fresno, California. Dr. Malcolm North of the USDA Forest Service Sierra Nevada Research Center in Davis, California and University of California, Davis is the principal investigator of the project and the coordinator of the interdisciplinary effort.
